FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Electrolysis is a commitment you make to yourself, for yourself! Together we both make a commitment, my doing the best work on you and you keeping the appointments suggested for the best results. As time goes on your appointments become less frequent until you are completed and with the results you wanted to achieve.

Q: What is the procedure?

A: The use of a needle that is the proper size depending on the existing hair size. The needle is very small. The hair is then removed properly. To prevent risk of infection, Paula uses the most technologically advanced equipment, strictly following sterile procedures with the use of disposable needles and disposable gloves in an immaculate facility.

Q: Who should seek electrolysis treatment?

A: Anyone who would feel better about themselves if unwanted hair was removed from certain areas of their body such as:

  • Beards
  • Bikini Lines
  • Backs
  • Neck
  • Nose Surface
  • Chins
  • Eyebrows
  • Upper Lips
  • Ears
  • Toes

Q: typically what are contributing factors to additional hair growth?

A: Many of the following factors can contribute to hair growth, but it is not just limited to these conditions:

  • Genetics
  • Puberty
  • Pregnancy
  • Hormonal Imbalance
  • Cortisone Treatments
  • Diabetes
  • Menopause
  • Endocrine Problems
  • Excessive Nerves
  • Medications

Q: Is there pain associated with the electrology procedure?

A: Each individual will experience the sensation in their own way. Paula is responsive to your needs and makes sure your experience is as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Paula recommends that you are hydrated by drinking water before a treatment and she also suggests that an aspirin or Tylenol® or whatever you would take for a headache is taken a half hour before treatment.

Q: How was Electrology developed?

A: It was developed by a physician in 1875 and was elegant in its simplicity. Electrology has been the only recognized method of permanent hair removal for every skin type, every degree of skin pigmentation and every level of sensitivity. Unchallenged by newcomers into the hair removal market, electrolysis remains the very best choice in safe, permanent hair removal.

Q: Why not use temporary methods of hair removal?

A: Caution should be taken when choosing a temporary method of hair removal. They can irritate the skin and may result with increased hair growth. These methods require constant attention and will not achieve the look and the feel desired. Some methods and products can be harmful to the skin. Constant shaving, tweezing, waxing, bleaching, depilatories and use of home mechanical devices can, overtime, cause skin irritation, ingrown hairs and sometimes scaring. They almost always compound the problem rather than alleviate it.
